Agricultural Education Foundation - $15,000

This matching grant provided funding to help cover the costs of a participant from Monterey County in the California Agricultural Leadership program. This program was initiated to further develop leadership characteristics of agriculturists who have displayed leadership potential.

Agriculture and Land Based Training Association - $20,000

This grant provided operation support for the Small Farm Education Program in Monterey County.

Carmel Middle School - $10,000

This funding helped support the Salinas Connection Project to involve 520 youth from the Salinas area in agricultural-based learning opportunities at the Hilton Bialek Biological Sciences Habitat in Carmel.

Community Alliance with Family Farmers $5,000

This grant provided support for the Farm-to-School program in Salinas area schools and with expansion of the Buy Fresh, Buy Local campaign in Monterey County.

 Monterey County Agricultural Education, Inc.  - $45,000

This organization has developed programs and curriculum for third grade students throughout Monterey County dealing with a variety of science and technologies of agriculture. About 6,000 third grade students per year are attending various Farm Days in Monterey County. This grant provided operating support for their programs and helped purchase equipment.
